NSLB develops and implements comprehensive and consistent progress-monitoring strategies that support immediate identification of at-risk seniors and guides them through a series of appropriate interventions. Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a program in which counselors and current college students mentor high school students as they prepare for college. Mentors help students prepare their college admissions and financial aid applications.
