Meet first-grade teacher Mrs. Sandy Contreras from Dolphin Terrace Elementary School! Mrs. Contreras, an educator for seven years, started her career at Dolphin Terrace teaching second-grade before moving to first-grade, where she says her heart is. She grew up surrounded by corn fields and oil jacks in a little town called Brownfield, Texas, located south of Lubbock. As a little girl, Mrs. Contreras used to play teacher with her younger brother, who inspired her to become a teacher. Her and her husband fell in love with El Paso when he was stationed at Fort Bliss in 2005, and decided to stay in the Sun City to raise their three children and begin her career in education.
