specialized non-standard applications (ie. Desktop
publishing, multimedia software, Tech Apps courses).
Appropriate for learning centers (mini-labs) in
the classroom as well. |

Laptop Computer |
A small, portable, notebook-sized computer.
It has a full-featured operating system that runs
local. Available in both Windows and Macintosh platforms. |
A logical choice for a wireless computing environment,
one-to-one computing and teacher laptops. Ideal for
limited space situations. |

Mobile Lab
(aka Computers On Wheels or COWs) |
A wireless, portable group of laptops (usually between 15 and 30).
They have a full-featured operating system that runs local.
Available in both Windows and Macintosh platforms. Mobile cart
for security, connectivity, storage and charging is necessary. |
Perfect for increasing technology integration within the curriculum.
With a mobile lab, campuses may increase access to technology.
Also appropriate for training. Mobility lends itself to increased
classroom access and multiple training opportunities.
Requires lower infrastructure requirements to deploy
(ie. Single Ethernet drop and fewer electrical outlets).
Doesn’t require additional, specialized furniture. |

Laser Printer |
A printer designed for high volume and high use,
usually lasts much longer and requires less servicing.
Networkable, thus fewer printers are needed.
It costs less per page to print and the quality of
printing is higher. |
Any office or class requiring high volume or numerous
users. Small to large work groups or individuals
requiring high volume printing.
