Points of Pride

Eagle’s PrideCapistrano Elementary School is a place where we empower students to become agents of learning through academics, extra-curricular activities and social-emotional learning. At our campus, we establish positive relationships with our students, rituals and routines, and rigor in our instruction through our motto “be here, be kind, be ready.” Our campus has recently been renovated to enhance our learning spaces. With the addition of our new art lab, makers space, and counseling area, we are able to provide many more opportunities to foster students’ interests and to teach the whole child.
Agents of Learning
Our campus has the distinction of a Blended Learning Campus. Through this model, our students will develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creation, which are all essential in a 21st century world. Also, we are a 1:1 campus, which means every one of our students from kindergarten to fifth grade has an assigned device in their classrooms. These devices allow us to transform students’ learning into a more personalized and immersive environment. All classrooms are equipped with an Interactive Display Board, which allows students to learn through their preferred style, through seeing, hearing and interacting with the board.
Programs
At Capistrano, we believe that extra-curricular activities are just as important as academics. From kindergarten to fourth grade, our students attend a weekly art class. Our fifth-grade students are able to choose between band, art or orchestra for daily enrichment. We also offer clubs in robotics, eSports, STUCO and UIL for students to participate in after-school. Twenty-First Century is an afterschool program that provides academic and enrichment opportunities for our students. The program offers support in core subjects such as reading and math homework help and tutoring, as well as extracurricular activities, so that participating students may be able to explore new interests and hobbies.
