HISTORY
Eastwood Heights Elementary School is nestled in the beautiful and established Eastwood area of El Paso. Built in 1969, Eastwood Heights was the first in Ysleta Independent School District to launch the Dual Language Program in 1993. Our school has a distinguished reputation for providing an exemplary education to children. We have been honored for our consistent and high-level academic performance, receiving the highest ratings bestowed by the state of Texas. Eastwood Heights’ success reflects the dedication of students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration working toward a common goal which is the safety and academic success of all our students.
ACADEMICS
Through our, Ysleta District Engage Me Initiative and our school’s dedication to continuing fostering 21st-century skills, our students in grades PreK- 5th have a device accessible to them for 24/7 access. The device is used in the classroom to help integrate technology into the daily curriculum. All our classrooms are equipped with an interactive display board that helps engage students throughout the lessons.
Eastwood Heights offers a Pre-K program where children’s knowledge and skills in all developmental areas— cognitive, social/emotional, physical, and aesthetic-are fostered. Our Pre-K classrooms are furnished with 21st-century equipment that includes flexible seating and technology.
STUDENT PROFILE
We continue to work hard at achieving a culture where we cultivate a student who has cognitive, personal, and interpersonal competencies rooted in Grit, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking. We value all three of these competencies, where we know our students will be college-ready and prepared for the real world.
