LeBarron Park Elementary School received "A" STAAR rating by Texas Education Agency (TEA). This is because LeBarron creates a challenging learning environment that has high expectations in order for students to succeed in their education. This is accomplished through the collaboration of the school community - students, parents, teachers, support teachers, staff and administrators.
Programs
LeBarron Park provides different instructional technology tools that include student laptops for grades 2nd – 5th, iPads and Desktops in Pre-K and 1st, and 2 Computer Labs. Instructional programs include One/Two Way Dual Language, Reading Framework, 100 Readers' Book Club, Thinking Maps, Gifted and Talented, Technology Rich Campus, Engaging Activities in Science, and Boys/Girls Town Discipline Program. Fine Arts Program: Art, Band & Orchestra. Our Pre-K program offers: Balanced Literacy, Children's Learning Institute Activities, 21st Century Classrooms, Bilingual Education that provides a solid foudation for the dual program at the elementary level, and Physical Education.
Clubs and Events
LeBarron offers many after school student programs such as Photography, Cheerleading (3rd, 4th, 5th), Dance Club for Lower and Upper Grades, Student Council, and Robotics - Competitions (VEXIQ, mBots, Spheros and more). Also, STEM Projects are included in all subjects during extended days. LeBarron advocates for Parent/Community Involvement by providing different events throughout the year. These events include Literacy Night, Parenting/Literacy Classes, Math Expo, STEM Expo, Stargazing Night, Book Fair twice a year, Movie Night, Students' Christmas and Spring Programs, Winter Wonderland and Spring Carnival.
Field Trips
At LeBarron, students experience several educational field trips that will allow them to increase their knowledge in different subject areas. Students are able to attend the El Paso Zoo, Licon Dairy, Chamizal, Fifer Ranch, Kids N Cows; UTEP, Carlsbad Caverns, Planetarium; Symphony, Adventures in Learning, Cattlemans, and Indian Cliff Ranch.
LeBarron Park is a place where students succeed and where families are involved. It provides the perfect setting for children to grow and bloom. It is our goal to serve and nurture all of our students.
