Points of Pride
Did you know all students at North Loop have an electronic device? As part of the Engage Me district initiative, North Loop Elementary holds four Engage Me Showcases for kindergarten through sixth-grade students. Students present a STEM project to other students using hands-on activities and technology. The students are full of excitement as they share their knowledge with each other.
Aside from having a device, students at North Loop Elementary also have access to Sphero robots and Google Expeditions (virtual reality field trips). We pride ourselves on teaching students what they need to succeed in the 21st century.
We would like to recognize our outstanding band for a successful school year!! The 6th Grade band members participated in the YISD Beginning Band Festival on May 11th and earned a Superior rating on their performance! Four students participated in the YISD Elementary Honor Band competition. One student earned an Outstanding Solo Award for her flute solo and two students earned an Outstanding Ensemble Award on their Trumpet Duet. Way to go Jaguars!!
Congratulations to North Loop Elementary students that placed in the District Team Quest competition and will be heading to the Regional Team Quest competition. The team collaborated on different challenges such as Engineering, Math Creativity, and Trivia. We are very proud of our students, GO JAGUARS!
Our school is very involved with our Partners in Education. North Loop teachers and JTF-North soldiers held a volleyball game to benefit the Child Crisis Center. All students donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and various items as an entry fee. Students were enthusiastic to participate in the community effort. Students also had a winter dance where they donated non-perishable foods. All food was donated to the Open Arms Community of El Paso (Food Pantry), which provides food to the people in need in the area.
Service Excellence Kudos
Kudos to our librarian, Mrs. Santos! She is very innovative and always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need! She always tries new things with the students like maker spaces, robotics, and 3D printing. Students learn 21st century skills and love going to the library. Aside from all she does in the library, she also is part of the leadership team, a cheer coach, webmaster, social media PR for the campus, and yearbook advisor! Great job Mrs. Santos!!
