    North Star Elementary School, located in northeast El Paso, erp first opened in January 2003. Since its opening, it has been named a Texas Education Agency Exemplary or Recognized School. North Star's most recent recognition is achieving six out of six distinction designations by the Texas Education Agency and being named an "A" campus. 

    North Star was also recognized as a Texas Honor Roll School by Educational Results Partnership (ERP). Our campus was one of seventeen YISD schools recognized for demonstrating high academic achievement as well as for reducing the achievement gaps across various student populations. For a complete list of Texas Honor Roll schools or for more information, visit

    Our campus is honored to once again be recognized as a top elementary school in El Paso County by Niche, a leading platform connecting students and families with schools.     Extra Curricular Activities
    VEX Robotics: Fourth and fifth graders are provided the opportunity to join our campus Robotics Club. Members get hands-on experience building, driving, and programming the robots they've created. Top campus teams get to compete against other teams at various district competitions with a chance to go to Regionals, State, and World Competitions. Team 91524D placed fifth in the finals of the Texas Region 1 VEX IQ Championship held on February 19, 2022 at Eastwood High School.

    Superintendent Cup

    UIL: Students in third to fifth grade are given the opportunity to participate in UIL competitions. Students compete in oral reading and spelling against other elementary schools in El Paso.

    Parental Involvement
    Parents are invited to become district volunteers or join the Watch D.O.G.S. Program. (Dads Of Great Students).

    Little Free Library
