Parkland Elementary School

Achieving Excellence

Points of Pride

  • Dear Parents,

On behalf of Parkland Elementary and myself I hope this communication finds you well and in good spirits. Please let your children know that WE miss them very much are we are thinking about them. As we begin tomorrow (April 6, 2020) to go to online learning, let us not forget that all of US: students, teachers, parents, and the community are going through this TOGETHER. Teachers will be providing engaging lessons using different on-line tools. Do not hesitate to ask for assistance if your child needs help on- line because we are here for your child. However, first and foremost our main priority will be the safety and well-being of our community. Please continue to follow all precautions regulated by local and state health officials and governments and reach out to us if you need anything. As a community we will move forward through resiliency and optimism!

    Literacy!

    Reading

Your child should either read independently for two 20-minute sessions per day, or listen to an audiobook or be read to. Any reading material is fine, as long as you feel it's appropriate. If your child struggles with five or more words on the page, then the selection is too dicult. *

Reading and writing can be in English, or in your home language, or in a combination.

    Everybody Loves A good book!
