Points of Pride
Scotsdale Elementary was built in August 1958 and is located on the East side of El Paso. The school colors are blue and white with the school mascot being a Cadet. Scotsdale Elementary is a feeder school for Eastwood Middle and Eastwood High School. The student population is diverse and consists of about 750+ students being serviced in grades Pre-School- through Sixth Grade respectfully. Scotsdale Elementary is driven by a faculty dedicated to student success, with the attitude that "Failure Is Not an Option." As a community, we anticipate our new school to be ready for the 2022-23 Academic School Year. The new Scotsdale will continue to celebrate the traditional values and history of the Eastwood Community.
Scotsdale is one of ten Ysleta ISD schools named to the Texas 2019 Honor Roll by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Institute for Productivity in Education (IPE). Schools receiving this distinction have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and reduction in achievement gaps between student populations.
Scotsdale has attained Distinctions for STAAR testing in ELA/Reading, Mathematics, Science, Top 25% closing the performance gap and Postsecondary Readiness. The Cadet Faculty and Teachers strive to support and nurture that all students grow emotionally and academically.
Scotsdale Extracurricular Activities
Scotsdale Elementary hosts extracurricular activities for students. As students return to school this academic school year, we will strive to offer opportunities for all Scholars to partake in various athletic and academic clubs. Library, Robotics and STUCO are some of our more popular clubs, our school will invest in provoding opportunities for learners to have opportunities to extend their love for our school and self pride.
Scotsdale Mission Statement:
All Scotsdale Scholars will be provided a safe and nurturing learning environment in order to foster their social and emotional learning. Our scholars will be provided daily opportunities to become responsible, respectful and motivated learners. We will provide instruction and support in order to meet the needs of diverse learners in our school community. We will educate every student with respect - maximizing their strengths and talents, honoring their beliefs, and working collaboratively to overcome their challenges.
