Points of Pride
Camino Real Middle School was once a pecan orchard and it is still evident with all the pecan trees located in the back of the school. The school officially opened in 1989. The first principal was Mr. Bob Beauford who retired in 1998 and was proceeded by Ms. Dolores Chaparro who graced the halls of Camino Real until 2014. We are very lucky to have Mrs. Ida Perales as our current principal.
The school has undergone several changes throughout the years. It was originally painted red, blue and yellow, as the school colors and mascot were chosen by the students the first year it was opened. Today, our colors are turquoise, black and grey. Since its inception, the school has added a tech dome and a new running track was installed.
Camino Real has had many accomplishments throughout the years, but one of the most notable accomplishment has been the award of a $135,000 grant presented to us by Governor Rick Perry on September 27, 2006.
We are the Panthers and believe that great discipline and heart will set us apart.
