  • Del Valle High School is a TEA Recognized Comprehensive High School in the Ysleta Independent School District.  Del Valle High School is known for excellence in both academics and athletics.

    A 2017 U.S. News and World Report listed Del Valle as a top performing High School in the nation. Del Valle earned an Extraordinary Achievement Distinction Designation rating from the Texas Education Agency for the 2016 school year.  Areas of recognition are Reading/English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and College Readiness.  Del Valle also earned Top 25% in Student Progress and Closing Performance Gaps.

    The school, known as the Del Valle Conquistadores, is designated by the TEA as home to two Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academies for both Business and Engineering.

    Del Valle High School is home to many elite sports teams that show why the school is referred to as "Big Bad Blue."  The football team, under coach Jesse Perales, is continually ranked at the top of the district and won the 2016 2-5a district championship. Former Del Valle football player Steven Montez is the current Colorado starting quarterback. Men's Basketball, under Coach Churchill, won the 2016 2-5a championship and return a strong team for 2017. The boy's soccer team has proven themselves as an elite team by winning several state championships and went deep in the state championships last year under Coach Reichman. Women's softball had an amazing championship season in 2016 and continue dominating district opponents. The Conquistadores Women's Soccer team is loaded with talent and ready to build off last seasons championship run. Del Valle golf team won the district championship last season and return most of the team.  The Men's and Women's wrestling teams had amazing seasons last year with the men winning the district championship. The baseball, volleyball, swimming and tennis teams are on the rise. Track and field have had a recent district championship. Former Del Valle track star David Hernandez won two gold medals this year in the national championships and Pan American Games.

    Del Valle is home to an award-winning dance team called Fuego. The team has won awards from across the southwest. The Del Valle marching band is known throughout El Paso as the band to watch and listen to! Speech and Debate are represented at State year after year. The JROTC team continually win awards and truly represent our great school!

    The new Fire Academy is here! The new academy has already built a strong reputation winning awards and top spot in the district last year. The fire academy compliments the Law Enforcement Academy and is part of Del Valle's Public Safety Academy.
