DVMS Student Council

Student Council is a school organization led by students and sponsored by the school counselor, Ms. Kirk. The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to advocate for their school and for the student body while developing leadership skills through organization and by carrying out school activities and community service projects.  Student council members lead others in school spirit.  They are the voice of the student body.  They plan and execute school events, and carry out community service activities that contribute to the betterment of the community welfare.  Student council members help share student ideas, interests, and concerns with the school-wide community.

The student council organization is based upon following parliamentary procedures. Meeting agendas are set prior to the meetings by Student Leadership in coordination with the Student Council sponsor.  Ideas are presented, voted upon and confirmed by the student council president.

Any student that is interested in leadership, community service, event planning, or becoming more involved in the school are welcome to join our organization and have some fun.

Meetings: Every Thursday in the Library
