Pharmacy Technician Program

The Pharmacy Technician Program is a 36-week period classroom with hands on clinical rotation experience. The objective of the program is to equip students with knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required to become an integral member of the pharmacy team in an entry-level position in the pharmacy field. The Pharmacy Tech. Program encourages active student participation and includes group discussions and projects, laboratory work, simulations, demonstrations, guest speakers, and lectures. A strong to pursue lifelong personal and professional development.
Students who successfully complete the course and graduate are encouraged to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), the National Sterile Products (IV) Certification and to apply to the UTEP/UT Austin Cooperative Pharmacy Program.
