  • Texas will need more than 25,000 new teachers by the end of 2016. Teaching/coaching is projected to be one of the fastest-growing occupations over the next 10 years and beyond. Jobs in the Education and Training pathway are becoming so sophisticated and so technically oriented that a degree in specialized areas is necessary to qualify for these positions. The areas of specialization can range from teaching in the classroom to being the head of an entire school district as a Superintendent of Schools. The average K- 12 teacher salary in Texas is $42,685 according to the Texas Workforce Commission. School administrator salaries can range from $86,000 as a school Principal to $250,000 as a Superintendent of Schools.
