School districts retain the authority to add requirements beyond what is required in state law and rule for graduation.
Your child will meet with their school counselor to discuss their individual graduation plan throughout high school. The Recommended Program and Distinguished Levels of Achievement Foundation Program are the choice graduation plans for all Ysleta Independent School District students since the two programs prepare students to be College and Career Ready. District Requirements include:
a. Students are encouraged to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), not later than the end of their junior year.
b. Students are encouraged to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) Assessment Test.
c. Student must complete a minimum of one application to a postsecondary institution.
d. All students must complete a minimum of 80 community service hours (there are exceptions to the number of hours depending on when student enters district). For more information see your counselor or visit: Community Service.
