East Point Elementary School

Achieving Excellence

Points of Pride

  • Welcome Back Students!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! The first day of school is right around the corner on Monday, August 2nd!

As the summer comes to an end, I hope that your summer was relaxing and you have had the opportunity to recharge for our new school year. I am looking forward to what this year has in store for us. We did a great job getting our students through COVID learning. I am excited to continue making a difference in our student's education with what we have learned.

This year we move forward with our theme, "GAME ON," as we strive for student excellence.

I am proud to welcome our Spartan families back to school. We are looking forward to an amazing year at East Point.

Online learning will NOT be an option this school year. Everyone will be face-to-face and we can't wait to see all our Spartans!

    Please remember that:

    • The campus will open for students at 7:15 am. Please remember that school starts at 7:30 am.
    • The school day ends at 2:45 pm.
    • After School YMCA program is available. Please contact them at (915) 590-9622 for more information.

Welcome to the 2021-202 school year!

    Thank you,

    Mrs. Poblano

    VEX Robotics State Champions

East Point's Robotics Team won 2 awards at the VEX State Robotics Competition held at UTEP on March 7, 2020. East Point won 1st place for the Robotics Skills competition by achieving a combined score of 150 pts during the autonomous and driving skills competition. This score is the highest throughout the season among all elementary schools in Texas Region 1! They also received the Design Award for best Interview, Engineering Notebook, and Robot Design. These two awards provided East Point's robotic team with 2 tickets to the VEX World's Competition held in Louisville, KY. East Point received 2 out of the 6 tickets given out. East Point's Robotics Team was so thrilled to make history as one of the first elementary teams to ever make it to the VEX Worlds competition. Unfortunately, the VEX Worlds competition was canceled due to concern over the coronavirus outbreak.

East Point's Robotics Team is ranked:

    • #1 in El Paso (Region 1)
    • #13 in Texas
    • #90 in the United States
    • #131 in the WORLD!

Parental Engagement Nights Offered Throughout the Year

At East Point Elementary, we offer many Parental Engagement Nights throughout the year. Further, this year we will have a few Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) Nights throughout the year as well. APPT nights are parent engagement nights that create a team with the parent and teacher. Data is shown to the parents and goals are created. Finally, activities are made to meet those goals and are given to the parents.

Other parental engagement nights that are offered are:

16 de Septiembre Night, Science Night, Sweetheart Dance, Numbers and Nachos Night, Read Across America Night, EngageMe Showcase Night.
