Points of Pride
We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit the Mission Valley Elementary School webpage. Our hope is that you find our website to be user-friendly and that it serves as a valuable resource to support your child’s education.
Mission Valley Elementary School is a wonderful place for students to receive an education that will prepare them to continue to reach high levels of success as they continue moving forward in pursue of their long-term goals. We strive to create an environment where each and every student is given the attention necessary to achieve his/her individual success. In addition to receiving solid instruction in all core contents (Reading, Writing, Math, Science & Social Studies), our students are also provided with interventions and additional support when needed so that they can continue to build on necessary foundational skills. Our campus utilizes Boys Town Skills to enable our students to become problem solvers in classroom and social settings and assists them in building character and refining their decision-making skills.
Mission Valley Elementary School offers students extracurricular opportunities such as Destination Imagination, Library Club, Student Council/Friendship Club, Robotics and photography that provide them with opportunities to build leadership skills and work collaboratively in team settings.
Our teachers, faculty and staff go above and beyond in providing students an opportunity to showcase their talents through art, band, orchestra, broadcast team and an annual talent show held at the end of the year. We believe in the importance of building and maintaining a strong connection between the school and home. We encourage participation of parents and community members by hosting several campus events throughout the year such as the Fall Festival, Kinder Meet the Teacher, Parent Conferences, Literacy and Math Nights.
Mission Valley Elementary School has attained passing percentages in Reading, Math, Writing and Science as reported by state standardized assessments, which is evidence in support of the quality instruction that students receive at our campus. We are proud of our teachers, our staff and our students and know that all of this is made possible because of their efforts and our strong partnerships with our parents and community members.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and remember that you are welcome to stop by at any time and visit our campus. We look forward to continued success and the building of knowledge and character in our students.

Cougar Mascot Farewell Celebration
Mission Valley Elementary was established in 1989. However, the original building was first established in 1978 as Valley View Middle School. The building itself has gone through many transformations. Such a long history has led our school to be filled with pride and accomplishments that exemplify the unwavering commitment by our faculty, staff and students.
Since our establishment, we have been known as the Mission Valley Cougars. Our mascot, The Cougar has supported us and provided us with pride and joy. It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our beloved mascot.
Ysleta I.S.D.’s first combo school will be ready soon. As such, we will no longer be known as the Mission Valley Cougars. We proudly announce that from here on out we will be known as the Mission Valley Conquerors.
