Back to School Tips

  • Here’s some tips to get your child ready for school:

    1. Be sure to meet your child's new teacher. This will alleviate any back-to-school fears.
    2. If your child is new to the school, set up a time to tour the school to locate your child’s classroom.
    3. Connecting with a familiar friend can help the transition in returning to school.
    4. Check the campus website for a list of school supplies needed. Purchase the items early to avoid the last minute rush the weekend before school starts.  The Texas Tax Free Weekend is scheduled for Aug. 9 – 11, 2019.
    5. Get back into the habit of an early bedtime and establish the back-to-school routine the week prior. Avoid any first day mayhem by practicing your route to school.
    6. Make sure school uniforms still fit and are in good condition.  Purchase any items needed.
    7. Prepare a workspace at home to get ready for homework. Clear your desk of clutter, get files and books in order so that you can read clearly.
    8. The start of a new school year is a great time to set resolutions.  Set goals for the year ahead.
    9. Stock up on breakfast and lunch items.
