Points of Pride
Camino Real Middle School was once a pecan orchard and it is still evident with all the pecan trees located on the campus. The school officially opened in 1989. The first principal was Mr. Bob Beauford who retired in 1998 and was proceeded by Ms. Dolores Chaparro who graced the halls of Camino Real until 2014 when the reigns were bestowed to Mr. Charles Garcia who was the principal for two years. Each principal has lead with great passion and vision.
The school has undergone several changes throughout the years. It was originally painted red, blue and yellow, as the school colors and the mascot were chosen by the students the first year it opened. Our colors now are turquoise, black and grey. Since its inception, the school has added a tech dome and a running track.
Camino Real has had many accomplishments throughout the years, but one of the most notable accomplishment was the award of a $135,000 grant presented to us by Governor Rick Perry on September 27, 2006.
We have developed into a thriving middle school. We have had many accomplishments to highlight our growth and one is our principal Mrs. Ida Perales she has a candenscene for education.
