Achieving Excellence

Points of Pride

  • Del Norte Heights Elementary is an "A" campus!

    Embedded Program
Del Norte Heights offers the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program to all students. Students apply their knowledge of science and math using the essence of engineering and art expanding their understanding of technology. The curriculum has been designed to inspire the next generation of engineers, inventors, and innovators.

    Campus Awards
Del Norte Heights Elementary School was named Texas 2015 Honor Roll by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Institute for Productivity in Education (IPE). Schools receiving this distinction have demonstrated consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.

    Technology Vision
The vision of Ysleta ISD to go 1:1 with student laptops through the EngageMe Initiative, along with our campus funds has provided each Del Norte Heights student, Kinder-6th, a student laptop or iPad in the classroom.

    Campus Activities
Del Norte's Character Strong Club is comprised of sixth grade students.  The goal is to promote and spred kindness across campus.  This allows the students to build a strong character foundation. Del Norte's Student Council works to create opportunities for connection and belonging, opportunities that positively affect school culture and climate which in turn foster high achievement even in our youngest leaders. Falcon Robotics Team will use the VEX Robotics to learn and practice coding skills as well as compete in YISD Competitions. Students will build and program the VEX Robots to complete the designated challenges. The Del Norte TECH CLUB works to learn and use different digital platforms such as Minecraft for Educaiton.  Students work collaboratively to build and create new worlds. Falcon News Crew members create morning announcements that are prerecorded so that students can stay up to date each morning. They rotate jobs such as anchorperson(s), weather and birthday announcers.

    Parental Involvement
Del Norte Elementary recently kicked off its Watch D.O.G.S program. The program encourages male role models to participate and volunteer in the school setting to serve as valuable role models in our students education.
