    Early College High School 

    Early College High Schools (ECHS) are innovative high schools that allow students least likely to attend college an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and 60 college credit hours. Early College High Schools:

    • ·         provide dual credit at no cost to students
    • ·         offer rigorous instruction and accelerated courses
    • ·         provide academic and social support services to help students succeed
    • ·         increase college readiness, and
    • ·         reduce barriers to college access.

     ECHS Blueprint Redesign

    • TEA engaged Jobs For the Future (JFF), national ECHS experts, to assist in the process and develop recommendations to the ECHS Blueprint and Designation process.
    • JFF presented five recommendations to the ECHS Blueprint and Designation process. TEA reviewed the recommendations and made changes where necessary. Commissioner Morath approved the recommendations to be effective for the 2018-2019 school year.
    • Download a copy of the 2018-2019 ECHS Blueprint. To determine the targets for the Outcomes-Based Measures (OBMs), current ECHS data was analyzed. The standard setting document details the process and data analyzed for setting the targets in the OBMs.
