Types of Tests

  • SAT

    It is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admission decisions. It is a 3-hour test (plus 50 additional minutes if taking an optional Essay) consisting of Math, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. Essay is optional.

  • Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI)

    The TSI Assessment will enable your college or university to determine if you are ready to take college-level reading, writing and mathematics courses.

  • ACT

    It is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admission decisions. It is a 2-hour and 55 minute test (plus 40 minutes if taking ACT with writing). This includes sections in English, Math, Reading, Science and Writing (optional).

  • PAAM

    Pre-Assessment Activity Module (Texas colleges/universities only). It is a required online practice exercise that must be completed before students can attempt to test for the TSIA2. This assessment will exhibit the types of questions students will see in the TSIA2 assessment.
