The Ysleta Independent School District is pleased to announce that it has appointed David Solis, current Director of Accounting and Payroll, as the district’s new Comptroller, effective Jan. 2, 2023.

Solis began his professional career in 2004 as an accounting clerk, and went on to serve in various accounting positions in both the private and public sectors.

He has worked with the City of El Paso as an asset manager for the Housing Authority, which assists more than 40,000 residents in obtaining quality and affordable housing; and also served as an assistant managing director with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He also previously worked at Canutillo ISD, as well as Tornillo ISD.

Solis holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
