Literacy Parade

North Loop Elementary celebrated "Reading around the World" in the 14th Annual Literacy Parade.  Students from each grade level actively participated by dressing up in clothing representing different countries carrying signs and banners. Children brought the parade to life by marching in costumes from Brazil, Ireland, Mexico, Australia, France, China, Japan, Greece, and the United States of America. Invited guests who also participated in the parade included servicemen and women from Joint Task Force North, Chico the Chihuahua, Timmy the Tooth from Texas Kids Dental, Whataguy from Whataburger and Lea, the El Paso Public Library mascot. After the parade, Principal mrs. Jones spoke to the students about the importance of reading.
