Hanks High School Class of 2022
The Hanks High School Class of 2022 graduated a total of 303 students on June 5th.
Hanks High School's Valedictorian is Alyssa Faith Ramirez. She will be attending Duke University this Fall and will major in Biomedical Engineering. She has received scholarships from the Duke University Grant, Vanderbilt University Grant, the Vanderbilt's Crescere Aude Summer Merit Scholarship, the John Hopkins University Grant, the Boston University Grant, the Northwestern University Grant, the Case Western Reserve University Grant, the Washington University in St Louis Grant, UT Austin, UTEP, University of the Incarnate Word, and the Mary Hardin Baylor Honors Scholarship all totaling $2,430,957.00.
Alyssa has proven to be a well-rounded individual by staying very active on campus. During her time in the Kingdom, she served as NHS President, HOSA Future Health Professionals Vice-President, Student Council Appreciation Chair, and Class of 2022 Secretary. She was a member of an all-girl robotics team, the Academic Decathlon Varsity Team, the tennis, and track teams. She had the honor of being the 2021 Homecoming Queen. Alyssa was also a 2021 Texas Science & Engineering Fair Finalist, a 2021 Sun Country Regional Science & Engineering Fair Life Science Sweepstakes winner, a 2021 Sun Country Regional Science & Engineering Fair winner, a 2nd Place Translation Medical Science winner, a 2021 YISD Secondary Science Fair winner, and a 1st Place Translation Medical Science winner.
Hanks High School's Salutatorian is Samantha Rose Hernandez. She will be attending Texas Tech, where she will major in Political Science. She was the recipient of a Presidential Merit Scholarship for Texas Tech and was a recipient of a YEF Scholarship. While at Kingdom, she was the leader of the Lady Knights Basketball team and was the Vice-President of the National Honor Society.
