Ysleta ISD students selected as student ambassadors by the Hospitals of Providence
Ten Ysleta ISD students were selected by the Hospitals of Providence healthcare network to participate in their 2016-17 “Student Board of Directors” program. The students will become ambassadors for Tenet, The Hospitals of Providence, and the El Paso community.
Student Board members from YISD are: Andrew Adame, Guadalupe Carrillo, Emily Haro, Alejandra Isabel Nevarez and Kimberly Sanchez from Bel Air High School; Natalia Gastelo and Jose A. Renteria from Del Valle High School; Selena Castro and Yazmine Juarez from Hanks High School; and Serena Marie Ramos from Ysleta High School.
The program will provide VIP insider access and unique insight into the healthcare industry. According to the Hospitals of Providence, they will learn:
- Business Etiquette and Dressing for Success
- Life in the Emergency Room
- Emergency Prevention & Awareness for Teens
- Healthcare in the Borderland
- Community Involvement and Volunteerism
- Technology in Medicine (Robotic Surgery)
- Cultural Competence and its impact on Hospitals
- Challenge and develop leadership skills to include public speaking, business etiquette, problem solving and critical thinking
