Lancaster ES cheer team brings holiday cheer to light parade
Cheerleaders from Lancaster Elementary School participated in the annual Celebration of Lights parade on Dec. 3. The parade, which winds through downtown El Paso, culminates with the lighting of the Christmas tree in San Jacinto Plaza which kicks off the holiday season for El Pasoans everywhere. One of El Paso’s most celebrated holiday traditions – the annual Downtown Christmas tree lighting ceremony and parade officially ushers in the Christmas season.
The Aztec cheer team rode on a float covered with hundreds of sparkly lights. The parade features unique floats, cars, bands, and other participants. This year, the Lancaster Elementary School cheer team followed Santa, the grand marshal in the procession. The lights and music were a fantastic way to spend the chilly evening and get the community in the mood for the season.
The cheer team is sponsored by Angie and Jose Garcia.
