Photo of Rosemarie Labs Congratulations to Parkland High School’s Honored Ex Rosemarie Labs from the class of 1974!

After graduation in 1974, Rosemarie served her country in the Navy for 6 years before returning home to join her family’s software company. In 1993, she joined the YISD family as the Attendance Clerk at Parkland Elementary School and 3 years later she was promoted to Secretary. In 1997, she became the Principal’s Secretary at Parkland Middle School, where she served in that role for 8 years. In 2005, she promoted to Principal’s Secretary at Parkland High School, a position she held until she retired in 2015. She was named PHS Support Employee of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

Rosemarie’s service to the Parkland community has never been limited to her professional duties. She was a member of the Parkland Elementary PTA for 7 years, where she held the positions of President and Treasurer. She was a member of the Parkland High School Band Boosters for 6 years, serving as Treasurer and President. She has been a YISD volunteer for 25 years and has worked the Region 22 UIL Music Contest for the last 23 years.

She is actively involved in the community providing meals for the Ronald McDonald House and the Men’s Opportunity Center. The El Paso Humane Society counts on Rosemarie to foster puppies for their organization. She can also be found mentoring students in an elementary school in Northeast El Paso. It is these acts of selflessness and her commitment to the Parkland Community that have left an ever-lasting impression on all of the people whose lives she has touched. She is the embodiment of Matador Spirit and truly bleeds black and gold.

She is the proud wife of a retired Parkland Elementary teacher and mother of two Matador alumni, Randy and Katherine.
