The Tribe of 2019 receive their diplomas on the Ysleta HS reservation
Graduates across Ysleta ISD are taking the stage to commemorate their achievements this month. 310 seniors graduated from Ysleta High School on Friday, June 7 at Ysleta’s Hutchins Stadium. Principal Silvia Rendon welcomed the graduates while YISD Superintendent Dr. Xavier De La Torre conveyed words of inspiration.
YISD is offering live web streaming over the internet of all graduations. This service will enable family and friends of graduating students to watch and listen to the ceremony live using their computer and an internet connection from anywhere in the world. Please feel free to forward this webpage to any family members or friends who can't make it to your ceremony but who would like to watch the event. Videos of all ceremonies are archived on the Ysleta ISD YouTube Channel.

Congratulations to Ysleta High School’s Tribe of 2019 Valedictorian Selaine Nicole Rodriguez and Salutatorian Axel Ortega Ibuado!
Valedictorian Selaine Rodriguez is a member of the Indian Pride Band, National Honor Society, Student Council, Robotics, and has taken many Advanced Placement academic courses. She served as the Student Body President for two years, represented Ysleta High School on the Pueblo Viejo Neighborhood Association Committee and was a part of the Principal and Superintendents Advisory Committees. She has been awarded $1,7 M in financial aid and scholarship monies. Selaine was awarded the highly coveted Gates Scholarship and will be attending Stanford University to major in Civil Engineering.
Salutatorian of the Tribe of 2019, Axel Ortega Ibuado, is a member of the Ysleta Art Club, DECA, National Honor Society and has taken many Advanced Placement academic courses. This year, Axel participated in the State UIL VASE Art competition where he received a Gold Seal for his artwork. He has been awarded $26 M in financial aid and scholarship monies. Axel will be attending Columbia University to major in Biomedical Engineering.
As of graduation, Ysleta High School’s senior class earned $25.7 million dollars in post-secondary scholarships and financial aid. Congratulations to the Class of 2019! We wish you continued success in the future!
