Former DVHS administrator named 2019 Honored Ex
Del Valle High School is proud to honor the 2019 Honored Ex Carlos Guerra, class of 1997.
Carlos, a member of the Del Valle learning community, attended Lancaster Elementary and Valley View Middle School. He played soccer for Coach Reichman and was the President of the Spanish National Honor Society as well as Vice-President of the Business Professionals of America. He attended the University of Texas El Paso and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science in 2003. He is currently Principal at Montwood High School in the Socorro Independent School District.
Carlos began his career at Del Valle in 2004 as a social studies teacher and was also the department chair from 2006-2014. In 2011, he became the school’s testing coordinator and in 2013 he became a school administrator at Del Valle.
Mr. Guerra is married to his wife Vivi and they have three amazing children: Joel who attends UTEP, Carlos who attends Del Valle Middle and Vivianey, a sophomore at Del Valle High School.
The Honored Ex is grateful to his parents Carlos and Sylvia Guerra for teaching him the lesson of hard work and triumph and to principal Mr. Antonio Acuna for having confidence in him to get the job done and to champion the Del Valle, “One Family, One Destiny.”
