Ysleta ISD counselors receive award from state counselor association
Six Ysleta ISD counselors have received a Lone Star State School Counselor Association (LSSSCA) BronzeWinner for the 2019 school year. Lorena Soto, Dolphin Terrace Elementary; Cynthia Ibarra, Ramona Elementary, Leslie Spencer and Pat Tellez, Scotsdale Elementary; and Debbie Walker and Mike Enriquez, Indian Ridge Elementary schools were recognized at the LSSSCA Conference in Frisco, TX in early November.
“We are very proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the entire process and most importantly in everything that they do at their campus to support student success,” said Celina Muñoz, Director of Guidance and Counseling.
In 2016, The Lone Star State School Counselor Association developed a progressive awards system that includes three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Each level is met with increased levels of rigor designed to elevate school counselor programs to national recognition through The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) awards. Schools receiving the LSSSCA Bronze, Silver or Gold award demonstrated outstanding comprehensive counseling programs that were data-driven, focused on goal completion and aligned to the ASCA National Model.
