Working to make a difference: Thank you District 1 Trustee Mr. Carlos Bustillos

Photo of Carlos Bustillos January is school Board Recognition Month in Texas. We join the districts across the state in recognizing our dedicated school board members. These public servants sit through meetings, read detailed reports, listen to parents’ concerns, and do the hard work to benefit the students and the community at large. They bring a variety of skills and backgrounds to their task, and they take their responsibilities seriously. And the whole community benefits from their vigilance in providing good schools.

Riverside area Trustee Carlos Bustillos works for a concrete/masonry supplier called the Euclid Chemical Company. Mr. Bustillos, a 1994 graduate of Riverside High School, was one of the first recipients of the Ysleta Education Foundation scholarship, and he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Bustillos married his high-school sweetheart and has three children attending Riverside-area schools. He has been an active advocate for after-school programs, volunteering his time to help with sports such as basketball, wrestling, and softball in the Riverside area.

District 1 includes Riverside HS, Riverside MS, Ascarate ES, Cedar Grove ES, Constance Hulbert ES, Ramona ES, Thomas Manor ES.

Please take a moment to say thank you to your fellow citizens who have stepped up to serve as trustees for our public schools.
