Two new school administrators announced at Ysleta ISD

In preparation for the upcoming 2021-22 academic year, the Ysleta Independent School District is announcing the appointment of new principals at both Loma Terrace and Constance Hulbert elementary schools, effective Monday, July 26.

James McIntyre, current Constance Hulbert Elementary School principal, has been selected to serve as principal of Loma Terrace Elementary School. He began his 17-year career in education at Ysleta ISD as a fifth-grade dual-language teacher, and later went on to serve as elementary and middle school assistant principal, as well as principal. McIntyre holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master’s degree in Education, both from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

Sophia Fierro, current assistant principal at Constance Hulbert Elementary School, has been appointed the interim principal of Constance Hulbert Elementary School. She began her career in education as a bilingual education teacher at Socorro ISD in 2009, and has also served as coordinator and assistant principal. Fierro earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTEP and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
