Parkland High School 2023 Homecoming Celebration
Congratulations to Brenda Rangel, 2023 Parkland High School Honored Ex from the class of 2013!
After graduating from Parkland High School, Brenda Rangel attended New Mexico State University for a short period of time before transferring to the University of Texas at El Paso where she graduated with her Bachelors in Kinesiology and minored in Education. She then continued her education at Texas A&M University earning a Master’s in Sports Management all while she was coaching the Junior Varsity volleyball team at Parkland High School.
Coach Rangel returned to Parkland High School in 2021 as a Physical Education teacher and is part of the coaching staff for both the volleyball and girls soccer programs. She is now entering her first year as Head Volleyball Coach for Parkland High School changing the culture of the volleyball program for years to come! Thank you Coach Rangel for the amazing work you do for the Parkland community and, “Once a Matador, always a Matador!”
Parkland Matadors celebrates Homecoming week from September 7 – 8, 2023.
Thursday, September 7
5:30 p.m. – “The Park of Wonders Carnival” Homecoming parade begins on Bomarc St. between softball field and Field House. The parade proceeds south on Bomarc, right on Nova St. (by Parkland MS), left on Ballistic St., left on Regulus St., left on Minuteman St., left on Nova St. and right on Bomarc ending at Matador Stadium.
Immediately following the parade: Pep rally and Burning of the ‘P’ in Matador Stadium.
Friday, September 8
7 p.m. – Homecoming football game vs. Burges HS in Matador Stadium.
Saturday, September 9
8 p.m. to 11 p.m. – “The Park of Wonders Carnival”” Homecoming dance in the Main Gymnasium.
