Riverside Middle School is offering STEM For All as part of the RMS STEM Academy designation. Riverside High School is a T-STEM designated high school. In one of many efforts to support RHS and promote STEM throughout the Riverside feeder pattern, RMS participated in a community STEM project. The theme for the project this nine weeks was Wind Power. Students conducted research on the importance of renewable energy and alternative energy in remote countries that may not have access to electricity like we do here in the U.S. Students were then tasked with designing a wind turbine with a focus on turbine design and efficiency. The wind turbine designed and built by our Rebels, was tested by measuring how much weight the turbine would lift. Our Rebels had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the need for renewable energy resources.
