The Scotsdale Elementary School Student Council were honored with the President’s Award at the February 13 board meeting.

The students committed to an innovative partnership with local agencies to help serve those in need – in particular, the Salvation Army, Cancer for Relay Drive and the El Paso Women’s Shelter.

As part of their passion for providing service excellence, the Scotsdale Student Council collaborated with the Eastwood Learning Community to collect nearly 1,000 pairs of socks for the homeless community. They gathered more than $800 in community donations for organizations that support breast cancer patients and research; and they organized a blanket drive and donated more than 80 blankets for mothers at the Women’s Shelter. These are just a few of the exceptional acts of kindness and commitment shown by the officers and sponsors of the Scotsdale Student Council, and we are proud to honor their contributions with the February 2024 President’s Award.

The Scotsdale Elementary Student Council officers are

  • Carly Armendariz, President
  • Iker Guardado, Vice President
  • Abigail Martinez, Secretary
  • Gabriel Moreno, Historian
