Eastwood Girls Wrestling are the Co-State Champions in Division 6A!
The girls went up as the top ranked team in the state heading into the tournament and certainly didn't disappoint as they came out with their second team STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in 3 Years; this time at the 6A level!
Alexis Montes came out as the individual STATE CHAMPION at 120 pounds, Paulina Butler came home with a silver medal at 138 pounds, Jadine Mata placed 5th, and although Daniela Romo did not place, she contributed 3 team points to the total. Allen and Eastwood ended the tournament in a tie at 67.5 points and were officially recognized as Co-State Champions. This is the first time in El Paso Girl's Wrestling History that a team has won a state championship at the highest classification!!!
We are so proud of Coach Troy Douglas and Coach Gaby Castro and their athletes for their tireless work in accomplishing a feat that will be talked about for years to come.
