Hanks High School 2022 Homecoming Celebration

Hanks High School is proud to honor 2022 Honored Ex Shauna Ziegler, class of 1997.

Shauna Ziegler, a graduate of the class of 1997, has spent 19 years in television. She is currently the News Director for KFOX and CBS4 in El Paso. She has received four Emmy Awards for the following stories: documentary onHonored Ex photo Women Air Force Service Pilots, Great Coverage on Severe Weather- high winds, and Best Evening Newscast in a Smaller Market. Mrs. Ziegler is a firm believer that her and her team provide a service to the tri-state area and continues to work tirelessly to ensure that the community stays informed with the most up to date and accurate information.  

 

While at Hanks, Shauna was a member of the Silver Knights Marching Band and was actively involved in Teen Volunteer Corp.  She received a BA in Communications from UTEP in 2002.  During her time at UTEP she was active with Zeta Tau Alpha, where she served as president and spearheaded several philanthropic events.

 

Shauna is a proud Miner supporter and continuously gives back to the community by participating in backpack giveaways, canned food drives, and partnering up with local organizations that help provide gifts for children in need during the holidays.  She had the privilege of being Hanks’ Principal for a Day in 2016. 

 

Homecoming activities:

Thursday, September 8

6:00 p.m. – Homecoming parade begins at Pebble Hills and Lee Trevino, proceeding south on Lee Trevino, ending at Excalibur Stadium.

7:30 p.m. (approximately) - Community Pep Rally at Excalibur Stadium.

 

Friday, September 9

7:00 p.m. – Homecoming football game vs. El Paso HS, Excalibur Stadium.  Presentation of Homecoming court during halftime.
