Football Champs

The Parkland Matador football team, under the leadership of Head Coach, Eric Frontz, has reached all new heights for the 2019 high school football season. The Matadors are the only UNDEFEATED high school football team in El Paso with a record of 11-0 this season. The Matadors tackled each opponent with athleticism, skill, and hype—bringing home the victory each time. The winning tradition kicked off in 2016 when they became Bi-District Champions with a win against the Bowie Bears. The tradition continued in 2017 with a 45-6 win against the Burges Mustangs, earning the Matadors the Bi-District Championship which led them to their next victory, Area Champions, as they defeated the Lubbock Cooper Pirates under the lights at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, Texas.

The Matadors have definitely brought the hype and the gold home, with two District Championship Trophies in 2018 and 2019 and four Bi-District Championship Trophies in 2016, 2017, 2018, and most recently, on Friday, November 15th, as the Matadors once again defeated the Bowie Bears and received that fourth Bi-District Championship Trophy which has fueled their mission to #keepthezero. On November 23rd, one week after a championship-winning game, the Matadors will make their way once again to Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, Texas, with only one thing in mind—bringing home a 2nd Area Championship Trophy by defeating the Wichita Falls Coyotes.
