Stay Home, Work Safe Order

Stay at Home Order for El Paso County

Update: 8:00 p.m. March 23, 2020

As many of you have heard, the city has activated a Stay at Home Order for El Paso County.  With that in mind, please ensure you adhere to these guidelines to ensure not only the safety of yourself and family but also our community.

Given that our district is responsible for maintaining our facilities and ensuring Instructional Continuity during the Order, essential personnel remains responsible for reporting to work as needed. Essential personnel include, but are not limited to, employees in our Child Nutrition Department that are responsible for ensuring our students are fed daily, TIS employees, employees assigned to the maintenance and operations areas to include custodians, and our security officers.  Employees in these critical areas will continue to work at YISD facilities as directed by their supervisors.

All other employees should stay at home.  Both exempt and non-exempt employees that are not considered essential should maintain their availability to work from home upon request from their supervisors.

If you need to obtain materials, supplies, or equipment from your work facility in order to perform your duties at home, please ensure you contact your supervisor in advance to make arrangements for facility access. Security personnel have been instructed to enforce this order and to limit access to all district buildings. To validate your affiliation with the District, please ensure you carry your employee ID with you, if you must leave your home to access a facility.

We understand the anxiety surrounding the uncertainty we are currently experiencing, but please know the district is taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, students, and community.
