Early College High Schools at Ysleta ISDThe Ysleta Independent School District is proud to announce the opening of two new Early College High Schools. These innovative high schools provide students the opportunity to obtain a high school diploma while simutaneously earning an associate's degree from El Paso Community College at no cost to families.El Paso Community College and Ysleta ISD collaborated to establish Valle Verde Early College High School (VVECHS) in Fall 2007. This distinctive school was built on the vision that innumerable accomplishments are possible when students are given the environment to succeed. Since its opening, Valle Verde ECHS has earned numerous awards and distinctions from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), as well as recognition as one the best high schools in the nation from Newsweek and US News & World Report.With the overwhelming success of Valle Verde ECHS, Ysleta ISD and El Paso Community College are in the final stages of opening Parkland Early College High School* (PECHS), located in Northeast El Paso, and Ysleta High School Early College Academy* (YHSECA) in the Lower Valley. Final approval for the two schools from the TEA is expected in the spring of 2017.The "school within a school" model allows students to fully enjoy a traditional high school experience which includes opportunities to participate in athletics, fine arts, and other extra-curricular activities. Students receive a well-rounded education that focuses on academics and college-readiness while allowing them to explore traditional high school activities.Application Process
Applications are now available for download for all current eighth-grade students who are interested in applying to one of YISD's three early college high schools.

The early submission date for Early College High School applications is Friday, Dec. 16. The final submission deadline for applications is Friday, Jan. 20, 2017.
This application is available to all current Ysleta ISD students.
This application is available for students who are currently enrolled in school districts other than Ysleta ISD.
