Severe Weather Toolkit

Texas State School Safety Center

The Severe Weather toolkit is designed to support schools in recognizing the threat posed by severe weather and to provide guidance regarding how to respond before, during, and after a severe weather event. The Severe Weather Toolkit leads schools through the different types of severe weather that can occur in Texas. This Toolkit provides checklists, job aids, and resources to enhance schools' severe weather preparedness and emergency operations planning, training, and exercising to protect lives and property.

Recognizing that districts may have different guidance needs based on size, location, resources, and local considerations, it is expected that districts may modify the guidance contained in the Severe Weather Toolkit to fit their unique needs or special circumstances.
