Bel Air HS student wins 2025 Congressional Art Competition.

Bel Air High School freshman Zoe Martinez was named the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for District 16 for her original artwork, “From the Roof I See Home.” This is the fifth consecutive year that an Ysleta ISD student has won the contest, which is sponsored by Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and the El Paso Museum of Art and is designed to recognize and encourage artistic talent among the nation’s high-schoolers.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. This year, Congresswoman Escobar’s office received 120 impressive pieces, which will be exhibited at the museum this year until Aug. 17.

Martinez’s artwork will also = hang in the tunnel connecting Capitol Hill to the Congressional offices in Washington, D.C., seen by thousands of visitors each week as they pass through the Capitol tunnels.
