Not only do we have the best teachers in El Paso, but the nationwide online platform Niche has named Ysleta ISD as the #7 District with the Best Teachers in Texas (out of 896 statewide) as part of its 2025 Best Schools and Districts rankings!
“Every day, we pour our hearts into helping students realize their promise and potential, and this shared commitment consistently keeps us at the top of the rankings,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Xavier De La Torre.
Ysleta ISD made an impressive showing in several categories in the annual Niche rankings, including:
* #17 in Best Places to Teach in Texas (out of 912 districts)
* #21 in Best School Districts for Athletes in Texas (out of 807 districts)
* #129 in Best School Districts in Texas (out of 883 districts), placing it among the top 14% in the state and the highest among all El Paso-area school districts.
* #203 in Districts with the Best Teachers in America (out of more than 11,000), jumping up 83 spots from the previous year

In the 2025 Best Schools and Districts rankings, Ysleta ISD maintained its No. 1 ranking for the fourth consecutive year and solidified its reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
The district earned an overall grade of A- that is based on performance in nine categories: Academics (B+), Diversity (C+), Teachers (A+), College Prep (A), Clubs & Activities (A), Administration (A), Sports (A), Food (A), and Resources & Facilities (B+).
In addition, Valle Verde Early College High School was ranked the No. 1 public high school in the El Paso area; North Star Elementary School came in at No. 2 among public elementary schools; and Eastwood Knolls International School ranked No. 3 among public middle schools.
