Kayla Graham is a proud 2008 graduate of Parkland High School. She earned her associate’s degree in education from El Paso Community College, her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Texas at El Paso, and her master’s degree in Sign Language from Texas Tech University.
During her time as a Matador, Kayla was actively involved in cheerleading, enjoying pep rallies, parades, and local competitions. She also cherished Friday night football games, time spent with friends, senior events, and the guidance of her favorite teachers, many of whom remain at Parkland today. To her, Parkland always had a way of making everyday moments feel special.
Now, Kayla gives back to the same community that shaped her. She volunteers with the planning and organization of the NorthEaster Parade, supports GECU food pantries, and coaches student-athletes in the Special Olympics.
“It’s an honor because Parkland is more than just a school – it’s family,” Kayla said. “To be recognized by my alma mater is a reminder of the connections, lessons, and traditions that stay with you long after graduation.”
In her current role, she continues to shape and build strong foundations for Matador students as part of the Special Education Department at Parkland High School.
Her words of advice to all students: “‘To be a Matador is Glorious.’ Stay true to yourself, give back when you can, and always carry that Parkland pride with you wherever life takes you.”
