Jim Vasquez, current Superintendent of Socorro ISD, is a proud graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1987. Born and raised in El Paso, Mr. Vasquez was raised by parents who instilled in him the importance of education – a philosophy he has carried throughout his 29-year career. He strongly believes in providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, and participate in a variety of activities and clubs that prepare them for successful futures.
Mr. Vasquez began his career in education as a third-grade teacher and went on to serve in numerous positions, including curriculum coach, assistant principal, and principal. In 2016, Mr. Vasquez joined Ysleta ISD as Director of Pupil and Parent Services before serving as Associate Superintendent of Student Services in 2022. He holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso.
His dedication and contributions have left a lasting impact on the entire El Paso community. Mr. Vasquez, you truly define what it means to be a Ranger!
