Demonstrating extraordinary compassion, reliability, and a genuine enthusiasm for serving her community, Valle Verde Early College High School senior Eveny Covarrubias was named the 2025 Youth Volunteer of the Year award by Hospice El Paso—an achievement that also earned her the district’s November 2025 President’s Award.
Whether setting up events, assisting at health fairs, or supporting administrative projects, Eveny could always be relied upon to lend a hand at El Paso Hospice, even when it meant walking long distances, working outdoors, or braving the rain!
During her 50 hours of volunteer service with the group this year, Eveny also assisted with creating bereavement envelopes for families who lost loved ones—a meaningful and delicate task that required profound empathy, compassion, and care. Through it all, she maintained a positive attitude and uplifting spirit.
The volunteer manager for Hospice El Paso said Eveny’s unwavering commitment and positive energy shone with a maturity beyond her years, and her heart for service inspired everyone around her.
We are proud of Eveny for representing the Ysleta ISD community with excellence and heart. Congratulations on this hard-earned and well-deserved recognition!
