Del Valle High School FBLA students Leonardo Gomez, Gerardo Peña, and Eva Villareal launched Operation Water Spring, a community service project aimed at raising awareness of El Paso’s extreme heat conditions and supporting families living in local shelters.
As part of Operation Water Spring, the students organized a donation drive to collect bottled water and essential hygiene items for families in local shelters, working to protect their health, dignity, and daily comfort. Through their hard work and outreach, they have now been able to start raising funds to donate an air-conditioning unit to a nearby shelter and hope to inspire other young leaders to take similar actions in their communities.
