The Ysleta Independent School District and 20 of its schools were named Wednesday to the prestigious 2025 Texas Honor Roll for outperforming peers statewide in closing student achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.
In the El Paso area, Ysleta ISD has the most Honor Roll campuses on this year’s list, compared to 10 El Paso ISD schools and 16 Socorro ISD schools. Statewide, only 15 percent – or 1,076 – of eligible schools made this year’s Texas Honor Roll, which shines a positive light on schools and districts where students are learning the fundamental skills that employers value.

Where Achievement Thrives: This Year’s Honor Roll
Ysleta ISD and these 20 campuses made the Texas Honor Roll for demonstrating comprehensively higher performance on the STAAR reading language arts and math assessments, as well as improving outcomes for historically underserved student populations. To make the Honor Roll, a school or district must have comprehensively performed above the mean (trendline) at least 80 percent of the time for their peer school group and category for the last three years of STAAR testing (2023, 2024, and 2025).
Among all 84 districts and 1,076 schools named to the Texas Honor Roll this year, Ysleta ISD and its campuses were in the “STAR” category because 33 percent of students or more are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged.
An Outstanding Tradition of Excellence
Ysleta ISD schools have regularly earned spots on the Texas Honor Roll since 2017, when three campuses were named to the annual list. This is the 11th year that Educational Results Partnership (ERP) has released the Texas Honor Roll to recognize successful schools/educational systems. It is presented in partnership with state business leaders.
